Old City of Bethlehem — $40 - $200 sliding scale

Details
History
Church of the Nativity, an ancient church in Bethlehem, is believed to mark the site of Jesus's birth. Built around 326 by Emperor Constantine I and St. Helena, the current structure dates to the 6th century, with significant Crusader renovations in the 12th century. Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2012, it has undergone extensive restoration. The interior features monolithic stone columns, marble pillars, and remnants of frescoes and mosaics. It houses tributes to Christ's birth, including altars and the Chapel of St. Joseph. Custody is shared by Roman Catholic, Armenian, and Greek Orthodox churches, with the Grotto of the Nativity, marked by a silver star, managed by the Greeks. Thousands gather at Manger Square on Christmas Eve for carols.
